Salbutamol is indicated for :
-The symptomatic relief and prevention of bronchospasms due to bronchial asthma, chronic bronchitis, reversible obstructive airway disease, and other chronic bronchopulmonary disorders in which bronchospasm is a complicating factor
-The acute prophylaxis against exercise-induced bronchospasm and other triggers known to induce airway spasms.
Pharmacotherapeutic group: selective beta-2-adrenergic agonist
Salbutamol works by stimulating beta-2 adrenoceptors in the airway smooth muscles. This leads to relaxation and dilation of the airways, making it easier to breathe.
Please refer to the instructions on the prescription established by your medical doctor.
Adults:
- For immediate relief: one or two puffs.
- In chronic or preventive treatment: two puffs, 3 or 4 times daily.
- For relief of effort-induced bronchitis: two puffs before starting activity.
Children :
- For immediate relief or before effort : one puff.
- In chronic or preventive treatment: one puff, 3 or 4 times daily. The dose may be increased to two puffs when necessary.

Hand-breath co-ordination is difficult in children under 6 years, older patients and patients with severe dyspnoea. Use a spacer to facilitate administration and improve the efficacy of treatment.
